Renewable Energy - Solar, Wind, Hydro and Storage

Once at school (many decades ago) during a physics class, the teacher said "Nature loves maximum randomness and a minimum energy state. This was followed up by setting up a game of pool, the cue ball struck the triangle of balls which scattered all over the table and finally came to rest. Sort of proved the point, all the balls were now random all over the table and the kinetic energy of the cue ball had been lost to all the others.
So, what has this to do with climate change?
Firstly, a very brief history of our planet Earth.
It was once a red hot ball as it cooled and a crust formed and oceans formed it still had no life. It was a violent place.
As it cooled, very primitive forms of life formed, eventually we had life that could use carbon dioxide in the air to make food for itself the plus side was oxygen was released into the atmosphere (the stuff we need to breath).
Millions and millions of years later, life developed on the crust, the land we now live on.
Land plants flourished, as they lived and died they were eventually buried under sediments where under pressure it developed into coal, tar, gas and oil.
In the last 500,000 years or so our ancestors used wood for cooking and heating but people discovered coal and coal gave us the Industrial Age. Coal powered the steam engines that powered industry and produced enormous economic and social benefits.
At the start I said " "Nature loves maximum randomness and a minimum energy state."
Nature, took a lot of energy out of our early atmosphere and helped cool the Earth and supplied oxygen into it as well so animals (including us) could breath and stay alive.
In the last 200 years we have burnt more and more of these old fossil fuels and this year alone we have burnt more than ever before due to Climate Change. Climate Change? you ask. Yes, Climate Change with the last few years having be the hottest on record.
"Nature loves maximum randomness and a minimum energy state". So now, Nature is trying to increase randomness (of energy) by distributing that energy as in wild weather around the world and Australia is copping it right now.
We need to start thinking where are energy comes and it can't come from fossil fuels, the cause of the problem we in.
